Am I charged a fee to trade on Royal?
A seller can list a token for sale on Royal’s music rights marketplace at any time. When a sale order is fulfilled, the seller is automatically charged an artist fee of 2.5%, which directly benefits the artist(s), and an additional platform fee of 1%.
Today, there is a 2.5% artist fee when you sell tokens on Royal’s marketplace. This ensures that both you and the artist who shared ownership in their music get paid every time a secondary sale happens.
In the future, we plan to introduce a feature that will allow artists to set their own fees. This means that artists dropping their music on Royal will have the flexibility to determine how much they earn from secondary demand on a per-drop basis.
In addition to artist fees, there is an additional 1% platform fee that Royal receives on every sale.
We believe having open and honest conversations around secondary fees is important, and we’re committed to giving power back to artists and fans by ensuring money goes both to the people who create music and the listeners who support them.
