At Royal, we want to empower our artists to make informed decisions about pricing their music. When you're ready to price your drop, we recommend starting with this song valuation calculator to give you an idea of the fair market value of the master streaming royalties you're selling.
The calculator uses data such as historical streams, market trends, and industry decay curves to forecast your future streaming revenue and generate a streaming valuation estimate. It’s worth noting that the calculator only works on music that has been out for 6+ months, so if you’re planning to drop a new release you can price comparable songs from your catalog to get a rough estimate.
While we recommend starting with the streaming valuation estimate, we understand that there may be other factors you'd like to consider when pricing your drop. For example, you may want to factor in the emotional value of your music and/or any rewards you're offering to collectors.
Ultimately, you know your fan base best, so we leave the pricing up to you. We'd like to encourage you to consider all factors when pricing your drop and to set a price that reflects the value of your art. If you have any questions about the pricing process or need additional guidance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
Setting token price and quantity
Determine your total sale price. We recommend choosing one that’s within our streaming valuation range, both so you price your music fairly and increase your chances of being featured. You can then set the price per token and quantity to equal the total sale price. A higher token quantity means more product to move, and a higher price makes the drop less approachable for consumers. Decide what makes sense for your drop by looking at your fan data, or browse our marketplace to see how comparable artists priced their music.
Remember, the more effort you put into marketing your drop, the more tokens you may be able to sell. We recommend setting the token quantity in correspondence with the amount of marketing you are able to do around your drop.
