Purchased with a MetaMask wallet
If you used a MetaMask wallet (connected to your Royal account) when you made your purchase, then you can transfer it to another wallet using MetaMask.
Purchased with Royal
If you purchased a token without connecting a MetaMask, it's in a wallet that we've created for you. This is called a "custodial" wallet. Your token is still yours, but in order to sell it on a third party marketplace you'll need to transfer it to a "self custodial" wallet, like MetaMask.
If your token is in a Royal wallet, you can transfer the token to a connected MetaMask wallet. Before initiating transfer, you will need to connect a MetaMask wallet to Royal and ensure that you are connected to the Polygon Network. If you do not have the Polygon Network added to your MetaMask wallet yet, navigate to https://polygonscan.com/, scroll to the bottom and click 'Add Polygon Network'.
Once you have a wallet connected, you can start a token transfer.
You can access the transfer function from the Token Detail page by clicking your profile photo in the top right corner and selecting the token you'd like to transfer.
From here, simply select a connected MetaMask wallet to transfer your token to. Note: we require linking a MetaMask wallet in order to prevent users from inadvertently sending tokens to exchange wallets, where they can not be recovered.
Once you confirm the transaction, it may take up to 10 minutes for the transfer to be completed. You can track the transfer’s progress on the Your Transfers page (https://royal.io/settings/transfers) which can be found in Settings.
Successful transfers will be accompanied by a green check, and failed transfers will have a red exclamation point.
